Originally constructed in the mid 1960’s as the iconic Hoyts Cinema Centre, 140 Bourke Street has recently been re-developed to become Melbourne East End’s newest, state of the art office complex. The building was recently nominated (as the ‘Former Hoyts Cinema Centre’) to become listed in the Victorian Heritage Register as a “place of special cultural heritage significance to the State of Victoria” (Department of Transport, Planning and Local Infrastructure).
