Australian Oil & Gas Boom Set to Continue

In an address to the APPEA conference, Jeffrey Bleich – United States Ambassador to Australia, has emphasised the importance of Australian resources on the worldwide commodities market, particularly the LNG industry in Western Australia.

Calling it the “WA Miracle”, Bleich stated “what happens in the oil and gas sector in Western Australia affects energy security all around the world”. He recognised that world energy consumption is forecast to increase by nearly 40% over the next 25 years, and that many American companies are investing heavily on our shores – Conoco Phillips, ExxonMobil, Hess and GE all making significant Western Australian investments, and the standout being Chevron, which “will spend 40% of its global exploration budget here”.

Another American market leader to recently enter the Australian industry was AFL Telecommunications. AFL, along with its parent company Fujikura Ltd. (Japan) are the world’s number one manufacturer of OPGW, and a world-class manufacturer of both ADSS and speciality optical fibre cables. With a proven track record in the oil and gas industry, AFL consistently offers high quality cables with function -specific designs for any application.
