Splice Shunts Offer 70% of Conductor Breaking LoadJubatus, along with our overhead accessories partner Saprem and client ElectraNet South Australia, have developed splice shunts for installation over defective mid span compression joints for conductors. Designed to reinforce ACSR (Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforced) conductors, these shunts restore complete electrical connectivity and provide additional mechanical strength in adverse conditions.
During mechanical load testing, it was found to restore over 70% of the CBL (Conductor Breaking Load) of the conductor that had been severed entirely.
